Cambodia ear trip

Dr Ooi recently returned from his first trip to Cambodia where he was part of a group of ENT surgeons, anaesthetists, audiologists and nurses who provide ear surgery and assessments in Cambodia. The number of ear infections, perforated ear drums and cholesteatoma over there is much higher than in Australia. There is a great need for the ear treatments the patients require that is not as easily available as it is in Australia. The trip was hard work but rewarding as the patients were very grateful to receive the care. The trip is financed individually and kind donations of equipment and medical supplies. Southern ENT hopes to continue its involvement with the aid work in Cambodia through Dr Ooi. Spring: Time to sort out that nose!!

As the weather improves, pollen counts starts to rise and nasal symptoms start to cause many patients to experience a major deterioration in their quality of life. "Now is the time for patients with seasonal symptoms to use their nasal steroids daily" advises Professor Simon Carney. " By using steroid spray regularly and before the start of the hay fever season, many patients can avoid symptoms when our pollen count really starts to rise". If you have not seen your ENT Surgeon for some time or unsure about your symptoms and the best way to manage them, please ask your GP for advice. Southern ENT: Winners Healthcare Section - Messenger Local Business Awards

At the awards Ceremony on September 17th, we were completely taken by surprise to be announced as winners of the Best Business in the Health Care Section for the Southern Region.
"We were so excited to be finalists and never expected to win" said practice manager Tina Mulder. Professor Simon Carney was overseas on a lecture tour, leaving Dr Eng Ooi to have to think on his feet and make an acceptance speech in front of 500 guests at the Adelaide Hilton.
We would like to thank all our patients and referring doctors who voted for us and for The Messenger Newspaper for honouring us in this way.(Photo supplied by Messenger Newspapers)
Nevertheless, awards maybe one thing but our individual patient care remains paramount in our business philosophy.
